      It's stunning from beginning to end. If you have the chance to make the 26-mile trip, do so. However, I found it meaningful/educational to spend five days in Cuzco and environs first. If you visit some of the surrounding fortifications, the Salt Ponds of Maras and some of the pre-Spanish buildings in Cuzco, you get a better perspective on the whole Inca/Spanish relationship.
