* After breakfast, head for the Hulishan Fortress. The fortress displays more than 50 iron cannons of the Ming Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty. * Visit Nanputuo Temple, a major destination of Buddhism. This peaceful temple is over 1000 years old and is Xiamen's oldest sight. Look for the character "fo," which means Buddha in Chinese. The character is carved into a rock 4.6 meters high, so it's hard to miss. * After lunch, go to the Jimei School Village which is a general name for all schools and cultural institutions here. It occupies an area of over 10 hectares on a variety of various levels and schools ranging from primary to higher education and from traditional to vocational schools. * Explore the Turtle Garden which is composed of three parts: the portico, the Monument to Liberation and Tan's Mausoleum. It is comprehensive, broad and profound.
* Today, go to visit the Gulangyu Island. It is well known home and abroad for its graceful and changeable landscape. Sunlight Rock is the summit of Gulangyu Island. On the top, there is a sightseeing platform, where tourists can have a panoramic view of Xiamen and Gulangyu Island. * Shuzhuang Garden is connected with the sea, so you can also enjoy the sea-view along the corridor above the sea. It is a world of sea breezes, sunshine and exotic architecture with Mediterranean flavor.
* After breakfast, drive to Longyan and visit the Earth Tower of the Hakka in Yong Ding. These Earth Towers are inhabited by the Hakka people and exhibit the Hakka Culture. Through years of struggle, their dwellings were gradually changed into castle-like buildings in order to provide protection against natural disasters, robbers and wild animals. They are, without doubt, one of the most unique forms of architecture on the planet. * Later, drive back to Xiamen.
