Hello Group.
My name is Laura I'm new to the group.
Can anyone ansewer the questions below here?
Legroom or lounges and where to get useful information on booking procedures and prices.
Where do you get the best rate?
How to receive an upgrade?
What’s the best way to collect miles?
I'm flying Star Alliance at all times, is that the best way to collect Miles?
Which Airlines do you find to be the most acommadating to there passangers.
Thanks
Laura Gieger
Aside the overview of the Star Silver Status on Star Alliance, I decided to make a similar overview of the three levels of oneworld status (Ruby / Sapphire / Emerald)
I have started with the chart of the highest (=Emerald) and middle (=Sapphire) status. I have now finished the lowest status, which is Ruby, and not available in BA's Executive Club. Similar to the other status, I uploaded the chart on my webspace

I probably have overseen some facts and there might be some data not correct. Therefore any input is appreciated, esp. considering Malev and Royal Jordanian since there webpages are not very informative considering charts and information and esp. the RJ card comes only with a welcome letter and not further information like a booklet or similar things you usually get.
Since I got some input concerning the JGC status of JAL I have changed the JAL section a little bit.
It should become a work in progress and I try to update if there are anything wrong asap and also if there are any programm updates.
Being a true "road warrior" logging anywhere between 170k and 200k airmiles annually, I think I've investigated every avenue for getting those frequent flyer points (hotels, rental cars as well of course!). Always looking for more hints and tips but I find the best deals are to combine affinity credit cards with airlines and hotels....the numbers add up like crazy. My particular favorite is Delta Airlines Skymiles program, combine that with Hilton Hotels, an Hhonors Visa card and the fact that Hilton "double dips".....end result? Haven't paid for a vacation flight or hotel in the past 11 years! I'm headed for Dubai in three weeks, Bangkok in 6 and Phuket in 7....any ideas from the group on things to do in these cities?

A very interesting blog post here from "View from the Wing" about choosing a mileage program to give you exactly what you want - e.g. round trip tickets to Australia.

What do you think? I fly a lot between the UK and Asia and sadly it's usually in coach with no lounge access (unless I'm with BA).
Do you think it's worth paying extra for lounge amenities alone? I own my own business so have been reluctant to spend the extra money up until now.
Hi Everyone,
I am flying back to London from Shanghai for Xmas and I have the choice of flying either BA or Virgin.
Could someone please advise me which is the better airline?
Many thanks,
Marcus.
