Vilanculos airport is so small that there is only one very makeshift check-in desk. I think it's the only airport I've been to as well where you can leave the building once you've been through immigration. Can you imagine that happening in the US?! The Pelican Air plane was small and as hot as an oven - it took ages for the air con to kick in and everyone was sweating buckets, not too pleasant. The flight was fine though. There's only one air hostess on board and the food is fairly foul, but at least we got there in one piece!

On this Pelican Air flight we flew in the smallest plane I've ever been in; just 18 seats... It was a short hop from Kruger International Airport to Vilanculos in Mozambique (thankfully). The plane was so small that there was no cockpit door, so you could see the pilots in action all the way to Mozambique. There was nothing to eat, and no loo on board. So, if you do this journey pack a picnic and don't drink anything until you get there!
